Paddy Pimblett transformation from timid teenager to UFC showman

The transformation of Paddy Pimblett has certainly been a noticeable one in the UFC.

In an interview almost a decade ago, which has been unearthed on social media, teenager Paddy participated in his first-ever interview as a fighter, and it’s safe to say he’s far from the character we see on our screens today!

Sixteen years old at the time of the video, ‘Paddy the Baddy’ was wearing braces and accommodating a skinhead. He nervously answered several questions, which consisted of very short worded answers to the interviewer, who was determined to gather as much information for his upcoming fight.

His record at the time was 3-0, and the Liverpudlian looked to make a name in the UFC.

A decade later, that young boy has developed into one of the brightest prospects in British MMA history. Now 27 years old, he submitted Kazula Vargas with a rear-naked choke coming off the back of his debut win over Luigi Vendramini.

In his post-fight interview after the Vargas fight, Paddy looked directly at the camera and called out Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, of all people, highlighting just how far his confidence and persona has come.

“Who do I want to fight? Mark Zuckerberg,” Pimblett told Michael Bisping.
