UFC 275: Jack Della Maddalena wants "toughest" opposition

UFC 275 is set to take place on Saturday 11th June 2022, and Jack Della Maddalena discussed his approach to competition ahead of his scheduled fight against Ramazan Emeev.

Maddalena is scheduled to be back in the octagon as part of the Welterweight division on the PPV event, and he has made quite a statement ahead of his return.

The 170-pound fighter has claimed that he is going to be taking a different route from competitors such as Paddy Pimblett and Sean O’Malley, two fighters who are ascending the ranks of the MMA company themselves.

Here is what Jack Della Maddalena had to say ahead of his Welterweight bout against Ramazan Emeev ahead of UFC 275.

Speaking to MMAJunkie ahead of the fight night, Maddalena revealed that he is not taking the route of fighters such as O’Malley and Pimblett, who have said that they aren’t keen on competing against ranked opposition without a pay raise

He said: “It makes sense. If you aren’t that very confident in your own skills and you want to just take the slow route, then that’s fair enough.

“But I feel if you are confident in your skills and you do see yourself as someone that wants to compete with the best, I feel like you just take the best fights you can.

“But in saying that, everyone has a different route, and I can understand that route. Like you want to get paid more money for fighting better people, but I always feel that naturally, the money will just come if you fight the better people, so I’ll probably just try and take it that route.”

As of writing (Saturday 4th June 2022), Maddalena is not currently in the top 15 ranked fighters of the Welterweight division.
