Owners of much-loved 'Tram Taylor' give update as fans ask if 'she's grown'

The owners of 'Tram Taylor', an iconic cardboard cut-out of popstar Taylor Swift, have posted an update online.

There was despair among fans earlier this year, when the owners revealed the future of the cardboard cut-out was up in the air due to them moving out of the apartment. Fans even tried to persuade Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham to step in and save the lifesize cut-out from exile.

Comedian Red Redmond previously said on Twitter: "I own the infamous Taylor Swift cut-out you can see from the tram. I am moving to Sheffield next week. The future of #TramTaylor is uncertain."

It was later confirmed that Tram Taylor would be staying put for the foreseeable, as Red confirmed they had been inundated with messages from people who were interested in taking over the lease and keeping hold of Taylor.

On TikTok, the new owners of the figure, which had become a much-cherished part of the landscape for those who regularly travel between Cornbrook and the city centre since 2017, provided a brand new update.

Fans found themselves asking if Tram Taylor had grown on social media, followed by pictures of the cutout, which had previously displayed the image of the pop sensation from the knees up at the Castlefield apartment.

The video, shared by FrootcakeUK, claimed to be the new owners of the cutout, and said: "The day has come, the end of an era" followed by various clips of the Taylor Swift figure.

The text on screen said the legs to the previous cardboard cutout had become 'busted' before then revealing a brand new lifesize figure of the 'Shake It Off' star, seeming to replace the old one.

They wrote "This one is here to stay"
