Oscar-nominated actor joins Marvel Cinematic Universe as 'ultimate super villain'

Colman Domingo has expressed his excitement about entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to voice villain Norman Osborn in the new animation series 'Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man', saying it 'means everything to me.'

The acclaimed US actor and playwright, who received an Oscar nomination for his performance in the historical drama 'Rustin', made a surprise appearance at the Disney fan convention D23, confirming his role and joining Hudson Thames who voices Spider-Man.

During a Marvel Animations sneak peek session for fans, Domingo reflected on his character: "He (Osborn) is the ultimate super villain and also I'm following in the footsteps of someone like Willem Dafoe," acknowledging the legacy of the iconic actor who previously portrayed Osborn.

Domingo amusingly remarked on his penchant for playing bad guys: "I don't know why I've been drawn to the villains, I don't know what that says about me." He continued, pondering the nature of such roles: "I'm a good human being but I do believe that everyone has the power to turn in some way shape or form, if you don't get enough hugs, enough love, a lot of support, you go to the dark side all the villains I've been strangely attracted to."

He added: "To become a part of Marvel universe as Norman Osborn means everything to me."

Attendees were treated to a glimpse of the TV show, where Peter Parker's transformation into Spider-Man is depicted through the fateful spider bite, meanwhile, Domingo's voice as Osborn imparts guidance to Spider-Man on how to fend off bank robbers.

Jeff Trammell, a self-proclaimed Spider-Man "superfan" and the head writer for the series, expressed the universal admiration for the character: "We all love Spider-Man, we all love Peter
