When is the Paris Olympics closing ceremony? Start time and how to watch

Just over two weeks of incredible sporting action will come to an end tonight as Paris bids goodbye to the 2024 Olympic Games.

A whopping 329 medal events graced our screens during the much-anticipated event, which kicked off with a stunning display along the River Seine on July 26.

Viewers can expect a fireworks show and possible celebrity guests appearances during the closing ceremony tonight in a celebration of 17 days of sport.

The closing ceremony is scheduled to begin on Sunday (August 11) at 8pm and will last two and a half hours, being penned to end at 10:30pm

For those willing to stay up and watch the entire show, director Jolly has pledged a spectacle, with 'world-renowned singers' scheduled to appear on the 2,800 square metre stage.

Snoop Dogg, who has appeared countless times throughout these games cheering on Team USA, is rumoured to be performing.

In the UK, the closing ceremony can be viewed on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.

The BBC's coverage will start an hour before, at 7:00pm, so that the event can be built up and the achievements of all those competing for Team GB can be reflected upon.

Whether Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise will attend the ceremony is unconfirmed, but rumours suggest that in true Mission: Impossible style, he'll attempt a daring stunt during the event.

The inclusion of Cruise would symbolically pass the baton to the United States, who will host the Games in 2028 when they head to Los Angeles.

If the opening ceremony - which featured Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and Aya Nakamura - is any indication, then we should expect the A-lister to appear on Sunday.
