Oliver Glasner wouldn't carry Rangers 'passengers' as Ibrox chiefs told ruthless boss is Angeball replica

Rangers hiring Oliver Glasner to replace Michael Beale would bring a resemblance of Ange Postecoglou to Ibrox, it's claimed.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt manager, who saw off the Light Blues in Seville in the Europa League final last year, has registered an interest in the vacant Ibrox hot-seat, as revealed by Record Sport. Former Chelsea and Everton manager Frank Lampard and current Yokohama Marinos boss Kevin Muscat have held talks to become Beale's successor at Rangers. Interim boss Steven Davis got off to a stalled start when the Light Blues crashed to a 2-1 defeat to Aris Limassol in the Europa League.

But the Gers have been told by former Australian international James Holland, who played under both Glasner and the former Celtic boss, that the Austrian gaffer has an unwavering style of play that equals success in European competition. Rangers' players have come under fire from pundits and fans alike for being individuals, but Glasner would sort that out quickly reckons Holland.

He told World Football Index in May: "Oliver Glasner was the manager who brought me to LASK and he was phenomenal. He created a strong family feeling around the club.

"Every player was expected to think about the collective rather than himself and that was powerful. Despite that, he is also ruthless when he has to be and you know exactly where you stand with him which I like.
