LIVE updates as man found dead in Stockport

Officers taped off a car park behind businesses in Stockport town centre after a man died following a suspected drug overdose.

Emergency services were called out to the scene behind Wellington Road South, near to Norbury Street, at 9.50pm on Wednesday night (June 18).

Police and paramedics attended the scene, but emergency services were sadly unable to save the man.

Greater Manchester Police has been unable to identify him, but he is believed to have been homeless and aged in his 30s.

Forensics investigators have been at the scene this morning (Thursday) and drug paraphernalia has been cleared from the scene.

Police officers were seen manning a cordon, with the car park entirely taped off earlier this morning.

Officers later focused on the back of a Domino's Pizza shop, with the car park reopened.
