Ola Solbakken in Celtic transfer 'rekindling' as Jota contingency plan leads to Bodo Glimt star

Bodo/Glimt star Ola Solbakken is reportedly a Celtic transfer target - IF the club are unable to strike a deal with Jota.

The Premiership leaders have an option to buy the Benfica winger when his loan ends this summer but a deal hinges on the 23-year-old agreeing a permanent move to Glasgow.

And the Daily Mail report Celtic have identified Solkbakken, whose contract expires at the end of December 2022, as an alternative.

He claimed a goal and assist across two legs as Bodo dumped Ange Postecoglou 's side out of the Europa Conference League earlier this season.

It's been reported Celtic turned down the chance to sign the 23-year-old Norwegian last summer but it's now claimed they will "rekindle" that interest if Jota decides against a return to Parkhead.

The Portuguese star has been a huge hit with fans as their team stand on the brink of regaining the league title.

However, following Sunday's crucial win over Ross County, he insisted he was not yet prepared to discuss his future.

Jota told Sky Sports: "Not a chance am I thinking about next season. I am just enjoying day by day.

"It has been a terrific season for me and I am just enjoying getting to know the people around me. I am trying to be a better player and I am being with better quality players every day.

"I don't want to talk about that. I just want to enjoy and give everything for this shirt.

"As a football player, you need to keep your mind on the pitch, that's all the matters. Bureaucratic things are for others. Please just let me enjoy my football."
