Odin Thiago Holm in pre Celtic transfer boost as starlet joins world's top talent on Golden Boy 2023 list

Odin Thiago Holm has joined a prestigious list of the world's top young football stars ahead of his move to Celtic.

Holm, who is on the verge of becoming the Hoops' first summer recruit, takes his place among some of the globe's best in the European Golden Boy award for 2023. The award, which in recent years has gone to the likes of Spanish wonderkids Gavi and Pedri, as well as Manchester City hitman Erling Haaland, aims to recognise the top talent across the continent.

The Valerenga playmaker is on the brink of a move to Parkhead as the 20-year-old is closing in on a move worth around £2.6million with a medical at the Scottish champions set. Holm was first touted as a target under former boss Ange Postecoglou but new gaffer Brendan Rodgers may look to add the youngster to his ranks as he rebuilds the squad for a Champions League assault.

Celtic weren't the only club to take interest in the Norway starlet with Copenhagen said to be left disappointed by a bid rejected for his services back in January. Holm could fit the bill for Rodgers who stacked his previous Hoops side with attacking playmakers such as Stuart Armstrong and Tom Rogic.

The Treble winners may have more transfer decisions to make in the coming weeks with flop keeper Vasilis Barkas reportedly set to be released after his disastrous Parkhead spell. Meanwhile the futures of loan stars Mikey Johnston and Albian Ajeti remain a bone of contention for new boss Rodgers.
