Celtic transfer news roundup as Yang Hyun Jun given Gangwon green light and Cho Gue Sung faces snub reality check

Gangwon have confirmed they have re-entered talks with Celtic as they continue their climbdown over Yang Hyun-Jun.

The winger has been at war with the club in a bid to force a move through and has been open about his desire to head to Scotland to join Brendan Rodgers' team. They had been reluctant to let him leave mid-season but he claimed he had been promised they would let him leave if an offer from Europe arrived.

Gangwon CEO Kim Byung-ji came out swinging earlier this week but admitted on Wednesday that he had held fresh talks with the player over his future, indicating a willingness to let him go. And now the club have confirmed they have gone back to the table with Celtic in a brief statement that reads: “We decided to talk with Celtic. If negotiations are made our position is that a transfer is possible."

Elsewhere in South Korea, forgotten Celtic target Cho Gue-sung is facing up to a move to Danish football from Jeonbuk after knocking back the Scottish Premiership champions.
