Oboh emerges winner at 13th DOAMF charity golf tournament

The 2024 edition of the Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Memorial (DOAM) Foundation Golf Tournament concluded in Lagos recently, with Tony Oboh emerging as the overall champion.

Competing against a field of skilled golfers at the Golf Section of Ikoyi Club 1938, Tony Oboh, a 13- handicapper, displayed exceptional skill and determination, returning a remarkable 67 Nett score to claim the coveted title.

Uwem Udoh, an eight-handicapper, secured the second position with a commendable 70 Nett score, while Tunde Fashakin, a 12-handicapper, clinched third place on count-back.

In the Ladies category, Candy Agu showcased her prowess on the course, carding a 74 Nett score to claim the top spot, leaving Pauline Onafowokan and Nomwen Emeghalu in second and third places, respectively.

Tony Oboh, with his win, carted away not only the much-coveted winner’s trophy but also, a 540- litre Double-Door Thermocool Giant Fridge.

Expressing his gratitude, an excited Oboh remarked: “I feel so happy to have won at this time as I have been a consistent donor to the Foundation and identified with their noble and laudable achievements in touching lives of the less privileged in our society more so, during these challenging times in our country.

“Also, I will continue to applaud the organizers for their consistency in maintaining the very high standards that we have come to know and enjoy about the tournament and in the judicious use of funds in doing charitable works in our society hence, positively impacting lives of the less privileged.”

Conclusively, he said, “thank you to the DOAMF Team and Ikoyi Club 1938 Golf Section, for the quality of organization and impact they continue to make in society.”
