Nottingham Forest youngster praised by EFL pundit for this attribute

EFL pundit Clinton Morrison has praised Brennan Johnson for his natural finishing style after the forward struck twice against Blackpool on Saturday.

The praise comes after Johnson was a pivotal cog in the 4-1 thrashing over Blackpool on Saturday where he struck twice in a six-minute spell to kill the game from a Blackpool perspective.

It moves Johnson on 14 goals in all competitions this season, making him the top goalscorer for the Reds this season.

That has led to praise from former Crystal Palace and Birmingham forward Clinton Morrison. Speaking on the EFL on Quest highlights show, Morrison said: “He’s got all the ability you want.

“He makes the first goal for Zinckernagel, the second is a fantastic finish. He makes it look so easy. Everything he does, it’s just natural. He slows it down, and the finish [for the third goal] is brilliant.

“He’s still a youngster, he’s still learning, but he is fantastic. I have high hopes for him.”

It’s huge praise from a forward who was a regular goalscorer in the Championship and his impact on Forest this season has been huge.

The win for Forest sees them move closer to the top six, just one point off Blackburn in 6th with three games in hand, ahead of their clash with Coventry on Wednesday night.

The Verdict

Johnson has been on another level this season. His ability is there and at this level, to have the season he has had at his age is remarkable.

At 20 years old, Johnson has 21 goal contributions and could well hit the 30 mark before the end of the season.

Forest will do well to keep the Welsh international should they failed to win promotion. However, considering the level of performance from the youngster, they would be due a large fee.

As a result, this could be quite a saga
