Nottingham Forest fans stung after West Bromwich Albion snub

Reds fans were left baffled and a little bit put out after no Nottingham Forest players were selected for the Sky Bet Championship team of the week.

Forest thrashed West Bromwich Albion 4-0 at the City Ground on Easter Monday to bolster their promotion chances, a victory featuring a spectacular goal by Jack Colback. Brennan Johnson, Ryan Yates and Sam Surridge were also on target as Forest quickly put a Good Friday defeat at Luton Town.

However, it was not enough to see Forest represented in the team of the week selection, which was dominated by players from Blackpool and newly-promoted Fulham.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, Joe Bryan and Fabio CarvalhoApril 20, 2022 " rel="Follow" target="_self"> were selected from the Cottagers team who beat Preston 3-0 on Tuesday night to ensure a return to the Premier League next season. And Blackpool, 6-1 winners over Birmingham City the day before, were represented by their manager, Neil Critchley, and a trio of players in CJ Hamilton, Jake Beesley and Kenny Dougall.

Other clubs to have players selected were Peterborough United, Huddersfield Town and Reading, whose 4-4 draw with Swansea City on Easter Monday helped relegate fierce Forest rivals Derby County. Not that that was going to placate Reds fans. Here is how some of them responded on social media...
