Nottingham Forest triumph over inconsistent Manchester United to end 27-year wait

Nottingham Forest secured a memorable victory against Manchester United, their first since 1994. The Red Devils had previously won the last 11 meetings between the two sides, but new boss Nuno Espirito Santo’s team put in an excellent performance to secure a 2-1 win.

Nicolas Dominguez opened the scoring for Forest, before Marcus Rashford equalized for United after a mistake from goalkeeper Matt Turner. However, Morgan Gibbs-White fired in a late goal to secure the win for Forest.

Both teams had their chances, but Forest played with more intensity and purpose in the second half. It was a disappointing end to the year for United, who have suffered 14 defeats in all competitions so far. However, they will surely bounce back under the guidance of their experienced manager.

There were some impressive individual performances on both sides, with Gibbs-White and Rashford standing out in particular.

The match also saw the return of Amad Diallo for United, who made his first appearance in two years after replacing Anthony in the 54th minute.

Overall, it was an entertaining match that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle. Forest fans will surely remember this victory for years to come, while United will be looking to bounce back and get their season back on track.
