Northern Rail are offering train tickets for as little just 50p from Manchester to destinations like Chester, Liverpool and Knutsford.
The train operator has launched a flash sale with over five million tickets for journeys across the north of England, including from Manchester stations like Piccadilly, Victoria and the Airport.
Passengers could travel throughout September and October and pre-book tickets to places like Liverpool and Chester, direct from Manchester, for 50p a ticket.

Examples of the slashed-priced journeys include Manchester Piccadilly to Altrincham, Chester, Liverpool, Knutsford, Crewe and Preston. From Manchester Victoria, passengers can travel to the likes of Stalybridge, Southport and Bradford.
One million 50p tickets were released, along with three million £1 tickets and one million £2 tickets. Children’s tickets are available for 25p, 50p and 75p. Tickets are available online or via the Northern App and are valid for travel from September 11 to October 20.
Mark Powles, commercial and customer director at Northern, said: “With five million tickets up for grabs, there’s a Flash Sale route and service for everyone – be that for a day out at the weekend or some late-night shopping in town.
“Use the new ‘Cheap Fare Finder’ on our website to bag the date and time that suits you. Tickets are ‘first come, first serve’ – once they’re gone, they’re gone.”
Promotional codes are not needed. Passengers can search for the route and book as normal online or through the Northern app by selecting travel dates, or using the new fare finder tool.
The Flash Sale closes at 6pm on September 7 and tickets must be booked
