Manchester United star Andre Onana confirms return to international football to deliver January blow

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has confirmed he will be returning to international duty with Cameroon.

Onana has not featured for his country since the opening group stage match of the Qatar World Cup where the African side lost 1-0 to Switzerland. After the game, it was understood the 27-year-old fell out with head coach Rigobert Song and was sent home.

Song cited a disciplinary breach as the reason for his decision. Cameroon went on to be knocked out of the tournament despite a victory over Brazil in their last match in Group G. Since then, Onana has not been picked for African Cup of Nations qualifiers or the international friendly with Mexico so far this year.

However in a statement on X, the 'keeper announced he had been called up for his country's final qualifier against Burundi. Onana wrote: "In the world of football, just like in life, defining moments arise, requiring crucial choices.
