No Jack Grealish or Kalvin Phillips - Man City fans pick starting XI vs Wolves

Manchester City will look to bounce back against Wolves on Saturday following their first defeat of the season to Newcastle in midweek. The loss was their earliest exit from the Carabao Cup in 11 seasons as Guardiola rang a total of eight changes. Erling Haaland was not used at all despite making the trip, so is surely bound to start this afternoon.

With Rodri suspended Kalvin Phillips might make a second consecutive start while Kyle Walker and Ruben Dias are set to return to the fold. Bernardo Silva and John Stones haven't returned from injury and Kevin De Bruyne is still sidelined.

Meanwhile, Ederson is poised to come back in for Stefan Ortega in goal. City fans have had their say on who they wish to see make Pep Guardiola’s starting XI.

No surprises here, Ederson has been given the nod to reclaim his spot after his midweek rest. He will look to keep his fourth clean sheet of the season.

Walker and Dias have been chosen by fans to start after putting their feet up at St James’ Park. Nathan Ake led the side out on the night before being taken off in the second half as Guardiola managed his load.

Supporters have suggested that it may mean he starts against Wolves with Josko Gvardiol moving back over the left-back.

There is no place for Phillips in the eyes of fans. Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes have played brilliantly since their arrivals and supporters feel it would be remiss to drop either.

Meanwhile, fans have chosen Julian Alvarez to drop back into his supporting striker role. He led the line against Newcastle but couldn’t find the net despite going close twice in the first half.
