Police seize two dogs 'left in cage in car' after concerns for their welfare
Two dogs were seized from a car by police in Salford over concerns for their welfare.
Officers were called to the scene on University Road at around 9.50pm last night (Friday). An eyewitness told the Manchester Evening News that two dogs were 'left in a cage' in the car.
They described the situation as 'cruel' as police confirmed that the dogs were seized by officers. The witness, who asked not to be named, said: "The police are on their way now.

"It's a small car, the cage is smaller than the boot. They have put the seats down.
"They are not tiny pups, and they are both sharing one cage. There's dog muck everywhere, it's just absolutely cruel."
In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 9.55pm last night (29 September), officers responded to reports regarding concerns for the welfare of two dogs in a car on University Road, Salford.
"The dogs were subsequently seized by officers."
