'No excuses' - Bruno Fernandes asks for apology from Jon Moss after Manchester United's loss to Spurs

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has called for referees to be interviewed after matches following the decision not to award the Reds a penalty against Tottenham Hotspur.

United had the best chances in the first half with Marcus Rashford and Fernandes both going close. However a contentious moment occurred in the 25th minute when Alejandro Garnacho's effort struck the arm of Cristian Romero.

Appeals for a penalty were waved away by the officials and there was no VAR intervention to overturn the decision. Erik ten Hag's side would go on to lose the match in the second half thanks to a Pape Matar Sarr strike and an unfortunate Lisandro Martinez own goal.

"Last week they made a big thing on United not having a penalty against, I want to see what is going to happen this week, if there is going to be the same show they did last week. I want to see if Jon Moss also comes to apologise to our dressing room like they said they did to the manager of Wolves. I hope he is here and he can come."

United return to action next Saturday when they host Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
