BBC forced to apologise as Spanish commentator heard over England coverage

BBC commentators for the Women's World Cup final were forced to apologise as Spanish commentary could be overheard throughout the opening minutes of the BBC's live coverage.

The coverage overtook the BBC's English commentary making it difficult to hear any announcement for a few moments.

Robin Cowen, who was already losing her voice, said: 'Apologies if you are hearing our Spanish colleagues'.

It is both England and Spain's inaugural World Cup final appearance, both poised to make history.
