Nice 'approach' Manchester United for Amad and more transfer rumours

French Ligue 1 side Nice have approached Manchester United over the possibility of signing Amad, according to reports.

United's young forward scored against Rayo Vallecano in the club's last pre-season friendly, although he has yet to feature in the Premier League for Erik ten Hag so far. RMC Sport claims that Nice are still looking for an offensive signing and that is why they contacted United about Amad.

Last season, the 20-year-old spent time on loan at Rangers, joining the Scottish club in January. It is understood that Ineos' sporting director, Dave Brailsford used a recent visit to Manchester to 'exchange' with the player.

A stumbling block for Nice could be that they reportedly want to bring Amad in 'permanently'. However, the Reds are not willing to do this and would only agree to a 'loan move with no option to buy'.

Elsewhere, United have reportedly declined the chance to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie. According to The Telegraph, the Reds had been offered the American after a move for Adrien Rabiot broke down.

MEN Sport understands that a fee had been agreed between the two clubs for Rabiot. However, discussions between the player's agent and mother Veronique over personal terms failed, scuppering any chance of the transfer happening.

It is understood by the broadsheet newspaper that the Reds are looking for a ‘number six’, but McKennie does not fit that description.
