Newcastle United transfer rumours as target at PSV says he wants to play in the Premier League

A defensive midfielder previously linked with Newcastle United has said it is his dream to play in the Premier League, which has got the transfer websites gossiping.

Twenty-four-year-old Ibrahim Sangare, who plays for Dutch side PSV and Ivory Coast, said in a recent interview, as reported by Sport Witness: “Playing in the Premier League is not only a dream of mine but a dream of every footballer. That is the biggest and most important league in the world."

The Sport Witness report went on to say: "He’s been linked with a move away from the club for several months, with sides in the Premier League, in particular, said to be interested in him.

"One of those reportedly keen are Newcastle, who were keen back in the January transfer window and even contacted his agent about a possible move."

Rangers teenager Alex Lowry has committed his future to the club having reportedly attracted the attention of Newcastle United and Manchester City in recent weeks.

The 18-year-old midfielder came up through the youth ranks at Rangers. This season however he has made the leap to the fringes of the first team and he scored on his debut for the first team in January.

After he signed a new deal, website Glasgow World wrote about recent speculation: "The 18-year-old is believed to have been attracting interest from the likes of Newcastle United and Manchester City over the last month.

"However, he ended any doubt over his future when he penned a new three-year deal to keep him at Ibrox until the summer of 2025."
