Newcastle United transfer rumours as Magpies are linked to Anthony Gordon and Callum Hudson-Odoi

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Everton winger Anthony Gordon this summer. The Telegraph's Mike McGrath claims the Magpies have contacted Everton over a potential £35m deal for the England U21 winger, who impressed last term at Goodison Park.

With Everton having sold Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur recently, the Toffees are loathed to let another attacker go with the new Premier League campaign hurtling down the track. ChronicleLive understands that while Newcastle are interested in Gordon, they have yet to make a bid for the England U21 international.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is someone Eddie Howe would like to bring to St James' Park this summer according to the Guardian. Newcastle have been exploring plenty of avenues this summer to help improve the quality of their wide-men.

Moussa Diaby is been touted as a name the Magpies are interested in, but Bayern Leverkusen's £60m asking price could prove to be too much for Newcastle. The Guardian report Howe is keen on Hudson-Odoi, who could be available on loan this summer with Chelsea set to bring in Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.

While there has been plenty of talk linking Newcastle with potential attacking targets, they still have players on their books they need to shift on. One of those players is striker Dwight Gayle, who is the subject of interest from Middlesbrough. Chris Wilder is keen to improve his frontline options this summer and Gayle would instantly improve Boro's attack.
