Newcastle United news as Magpies scout top striker and Howe makes contract hint

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has suggested Paul Dummett has been offered a new contract. The long serving defender's existing deal expires at the end of the season but Howe indicated today he would be prepared to "keep" the Geordie Academy product.

Dummett has played has made just three appearances this season. He suffered calf problems earlier in the campaign but has been an unused sub in the last nine matches. Howe said: "I really like Paul. "I think behind the scenes he's had a consistent period where he's trained. I think that's what he needed. He's had various injuries.”

Bruno Guimaraes has revealed he is working with a nutritionist in order to get the best out of himself for Newcastle United.
