New Man United wonderkid shows true colours after deadline day transfer

New Manchester United wonderkid Sekou Kone gave a good first impression with the fans on Friday night after completing his switch to Old Trafford.

The Mali international arrived at United from Guidars FC on transfer deadline day after a bid in the region of £1m was accepted. Kone came to the North West with a big reputation after he was first scouted during the U17 World Cup back in November.

While he is only 18, Kone is expected to have a big impact on the first team sooner rather than later. To manage his move to English football, the midfielder will first be introduced to academy football but will be spending time with the senior squad during training.

It is expected that he will eventually transition to the first team on a regular basis. Despite only having his move to Manchester confirmed that evening, Kone wasted little time watching his new teammates in action on Friday night.

He was spotted in the stands at Ewood Park as the young Reds beat Blackburn Rovers 3-1 in the Premier League 2 with Ethan Ennis, Samuel Mather and Gabriele Biancheri all on the scoresheet. The victory was United's second in the league after losing on the opening day to Arsenal.

Kone will likely be helped by United to adapt to life in England quickly. When Alejandro Garnacho arrived, he was sent on an intensive English language course and given access to documentaries about the club to help him adapt to his new surroundings.
