New footage shows 'vulnerable' man walking down street just hours before he was reported missing

New footage has captured a 'vulnerable' man walking down the street just hours before he was reported as missing. Andrew, from Eccles, was reported missing from home after vanishing in the middle of the night. His mum Jeanette, who had been staying with him due to an appointment he had the following day, said he went to bed that night at around 11pm on Monday (March 11).

However, after waking up at 5.30am and checking on him, she noticed he had gone. Andrew, who is a vulnerable adult, was then reported missing later that morning when he still hadn't returned, at around 8am.

Andrew was diagnosed with Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis in 2021. The debilitating condition left him paralysed, meaning he had to learn to walk and talk again.

It is this condition that has left him walking like he is 'dragging his feet', his family told the Manchester Evening News as they issued a desperate appeal to find him on Wednesday (March 13).

His family wanted to raise specific awareness about the condition in an appeal for possible sightings, saying that "some people might think he is drunk". He also needs "vital medication" as a "matter of urgency".

New footage released by police now shows Andrew walking down Barton Lane in Eccles, towards Barton Road, at 3.43am on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers have had a confirmed sighting of Andrew on Barton Lane in Eccles walking in the direction of Barton Road at 3.43am on Tuesday 12 March 2024."

Andrew is described a 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and with fair skin, mousey hair and hazel coloured eyes. He was wearing his dark green
