Manchester United confirm new date for Premier League fixture vs Sheffield United

Manchester United have announced a new date for their Premier League clash with Sheffield United at Old Trafford.

Due to face each other in M16 last Saturday, the contest was postponed due to the Reds' progression to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. United beat Liverpool 4-3 in dramatic fashion last weekend to reach the semi-finals, where they will face Coventry City at Wembley next month.

United have confirmed the rearranged clash with the Blades will take place on Wednesday, April 24, kicking off at 8pm. It has also been announced that the fixture will not be televised in the UK.

It means the clash with the relegation-threatened Blades will take place three days after the Wembley showdown with Coventry. It was announced on Friday the tussle with the Sky Blues will take place on Sunday, April 21.

United will conclude that week with a home game against Burnley, welcoming the Clarets to M16 on Saturday, April 27 for a 3pm kick-off. That will mark their final outing of April. The Reds, in total, will play six times next month.

Erik ten Hag's side got the better of the Blades earlier this season, winning 2-1 at Bramall Lane in October. Diogo Dalot netted a sumptuous second-half winner after Scott McTominay's opener was wiped out by an Oli McBurnie penalty.

United last welcomed the South Yorkshire outfit to Old Trafford in January 2021 and were beaten 2-1. Harry Maguire was on the scoresheet for the Reds against his old club.
