New Celtic home kit teaser confirms fans' worst fears as 'revolting' design takes online kicking

The new Celtic home kit for the coming season has been teased, but fan reaction is not good.

Images emerged of the new adidas home kit for the 2023/24 Premiership season last week, with many fans hopeful that it was actually a hoax. The design featured a heavy black trim with a bubble-like pattern within the famous green hoops. Now the club have shared a teaser image of the kit which appears to confirm that the leaked version was indeed legit and will be worn by Brendan Rodgers' men. It’s due to go on sale this Friday but if the initial response from punters online is anything to go by, then it's not going to be flying off the shelves.

The black away kit, which appeared online ahead of schedule after US site Fanatics jumped the gun and made it available for purchase before it had officially been launched, has proved far more popular and fans have been snapping up the change kit since it’s release. However, the home version is unlikely to outsell it as supporters let rip before the full design has even been revealed.

One replied: “Revolting. And you’ll be wanting £100 for it. I’ll take two.

Another added: “Why the black bits man I have no idea what they were thinking with this one at all just means they best be bringing out that Anniversary top because I can't see many buying that thing.”

Some were more tongue in cheek, even bringing Ange Postecoglou’s departure into the equation: “No wonder Ange done a runner when he saw this.”

Another suspected it would be a one-off, posting: “Watch this get ratio’d into oblivion Celtic and never do this again!”
