Wolves’ players protesting against Bruno Lage’s tactics is concerning news for the Midlands club, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Premier League outfit have had a largely positive campaign under the Portuguese boss, but things are now threatening to turn a little sour.

Wolves looked to be in contention for a European place heading into the final weeks of the season, but their form has dipped dramatically lately as they have suffered heavy defeats against the likes of Manchester City and Brighton.

Having seen his side lose their way, Lage is believed to want to move away from a back three by playing a traditional back four instead. However, as reported by Football Insider, Wolves’ squad aren’t happy with this potential change, and would prefer to stick to their usual formation.

O’Rourke has admitted that it is worrying to hear that the players and Lage may not be on the same page at the moment, with regards to how to turn things around at the club.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s never good when you hear these reports, player mutiny over a change of style and change of tactics. Bruno Lage has been in there one year now, and I think he’s done a really good job. Obviously, Wolves have played the 3-5-2 for a long time under Nuno as well, so maybe Bruno Lage is thinking of mixing things up as well.”

Ultimately, the manager should have the final say at a football club when deciding on the tactics for each match. However, this could all come down to a matter of timing.

Wolves will want to finish the season strongly after a poor recent run to give their fans something to cheer about.
