Netflix The Crown Season 6: Release date, time, how many episodes and cast for part one

The Crown returns to Netflix for its sixth and final season in two parts this winter. Part one is set to air tomorrow (Thursday November 16), while the series concludes with part two which releases a month later on Thursday December 14.

The popular historical drama picks up where it left off as it explores Princess Diana's and Prince Charles' first summer apart after their divorce. The budding romance between Diana and Dodi Fayed will be explored, with scenes recreating the Princesses' Saint Tropez getaway on a yacht owned by her boyfriend's father and business magnate, Mohamed Al Fayed.

His relationship with the royals was shown in the fifth season of The Crown, where he was seen getting acquainted with Diana, played by Elizabeth Debicki. Mohamed Al Fayed invited Diana and her sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, to holiday on his yacht with his son Dodi, a film producer, where they were pursued by photographers.

British actor Khalid Abdalla, who plays Dodi, described the role as "the honour of my life" and expressed his excitement to be part of the project. Salim Daw Daw, who portrays Mr Al Fayed in the series, said: "I adore this character. I love him so much and I enjoy portraying him because I love him."
