Man United fans send transfer message to board as former target scores for second game running

Manchester United fans have urged Erik ten Hag to try and sign Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong following his impressive start to the season.

The full-back found the back of the net and laid on an assist for teammate Florian Wirtz during Leverkusen's 3-2 win over RB Leipzig on Saturday, having also scored during their 8-0 cup win over FC Teutonia Ottensen a week ago. The Manchester Evening News revealed that United held talks with Frimpong's representatives in April.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka had been made available for transfer last summer but has forced himself into Ten Hag's first team following an impressive string of performances since the turn of the year, starting the new campaign as first choice ahead of Diogo Dalot.

The Portuguese defender has been the subject of transfer interest himself, with Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan all expressing an interest in signing him in recent months. But with both of the right-backs now back in form, any move for Frimpong has been put on ice.

But now, United fans are calling for the Reds to make their move following his three early-season goal involvements. Supporters took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on a potential move for Frimpong.
