Nemanja Matic reveals his Manchester United nickname and praises Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Nemanja Matic has revealed he is known as 'The Wolf' by his Manchester United teammates because of his training ground antics.

The Serbian midfielder could play his final game for the club this weekend when they travel to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League, having already played his last home match earlier this month.

Matic, 33, has exercised his right to end his United career at the end of the season rather than have his extension triggered by another year.

It means the veteran midfielder will only have one more appearance at most for the club, and ahead of his exit, he has been reflecting on his five-year spell at United.

Matic took part in a Q&A session with the club's official media team in which he was asked a range of questions, including what his training ground nickname was.

“Yes, they call me the Wolf because I like to cheat," he said. "When they score a goal, I always say no goal or it’s offside. I will miss them also!”

The former Chelsea midfielder went on to praise the managers he had worked under at Old Trafford, and in particular, he offered special praise to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He added: “Yeah, I always try to learn things from them. They have experience. From every manager I had, I learned a lot.

"Also with Ole, me and Ole had a moment in this picture. He’s a fantastic person, he was my manager but I can say now that he’s my friend. I learned a lot from him. It was a good experience to be with him and he was a legend at this club. He will be forever. I had a great time with him.”
