Neil Warnock blasts back at Aberdeen 'holiday' accusations as he insists 'I'd have gone somewhere warmer for that'

Neil Warnock fired back at those claiming he is only at Aberdeen for a holiday – saying he'd have picked somewhere warmer if that's was the case.

Veteran boss Warnock is yet to win in the Premiership since being drafted in as interim Pittodrie gaffer and performances have caught the ire of punters on social media – some questioning his commitment and accusing him of coming to Scotland for a 'holiday' rather than taking it seriously. He was claimed to have had extra days off last week ahead of the defeat to Kilmarnock. But Warnock insists he couldn't be more committed to the cause – and vowed he's in the north-east to 'work his socks off', not enjoy some down time.

He said in his press conference ahead of Wednesday's clash with St Johnstone: "You've got to find the happy medium. We've got to get more out of the players, I've got to find a way to get more out of the group myself. I read about how I've come up for a holiday.

"Make no mistake, I'd have picked a warmer place if I wanted a holiday. It's a challenge I've always wanted to have. I'm going to be working my socks off now to find a formula that can get us a winning team. That's what I've come up for. There's no slacking off in anything. We've just got to do what we've been doing. One or two things haven't worked out, so I've got to look at alternatives if that's the case.
