Joshua Zirkzee sends Marcus Rashford two-word message that hints at private Man United chat

Joshua Zirkzee has sent an interesting comment to Manchester United teammate Marcus Rashford which hints at a private chat between the pair.

Rashford scored his first goal since March in Saturday's 3-0 win at Southampton. Goals from Matthijs de Ligt, Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho ended a two-match losing streak for Erik ten Hag's side who were well beaten by Liverpool at Old Trafford last time out.

And after netting for the first time since March's FA Cup quarter-final victory over Liverpool, Rashford expressed his delight on social media. The 26-year-old said: "Three points. First goal of the season. Smiles for me and Grayson," in reference to the heartwarming message sent by a young fan last week.

In response to Rashford's post, which included a picture of him celebrating with Zirkzee, the Dutch striker said: "Told youuuu," in a comment.

Zirkzee's comment hints that the pair may have talked beforehand about Rashford's form, with Zirkzee possibly offering encouragement towards United's academy graduate. Both players have now opened their accounts for the season after Zirkzee scored in the 1-0 win over Fulham in the opening game.

It's been a mixed start for the Netherlands international, who also unintentionally denied United a goal against Brighton after being caught offside in bizarre fashion. But the 23-year-old instantly enamoured himself to the club's fans after scoring at the Stretford End on his debut.
