Ndidi & Milner links as Steven Gerrard plots Aston Villa summer spree

Wilfred Ndidi has been linked with a move to Aston Villa ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Leicester City midfielder, who has been at the King Power Stadium since 2017, has established himself as one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League in that time.

Villa and Steven Gerrard are keen to add a new defensive midfielder after failing to agree a deal with Brighton for Yves Bissouma in the January transfer window, and reports have emerged that Ndidi is a fresh £50m transfer target for the Lions when the summer window - Gerrard’s first summer at the club - opens.

Rangers are reportedly willing to sell Joe Aribo this summer for just £5m with Aston Villa among numerous Premier League sides to be interested in the attacker.

The Nigeria international will enter the final year of his contract in July and according to allnigeriasoccer.com has no intention of staying in Scotland.

Crystal Palace, Watford, Brentford and Southampton have also been linked with Aribo who it is claimed is valued at £10m by the Ibrox giants. But because of his contract situation, it is reported they will entertain offers from £5m.

Jamie Carragher has told Aston Villa that if they can secure a permanent deal for Philippe Coutinho and continue to make him their main man, then a £33m transfer deal will be a ‘snip’.
