Maidstone United sign winger Leone Gravata following his departure from York City
Winger Leone Gravata has joined Maidstone United after leaving Football League new boys York City.
Gravata, 25, spent last season on loan at Horsham, where he was voted supporters’ player-of-the-year.
He was released by the Minstermen this summer and has made the move to the Gallagher Stadium.
Gravata, who can play on either flank, knows National League South well, having made well over 100 appearances in the division for Eastbourne Borough, Chippenham and Horsham.
“The experience helps a lot,” said Gravata, who played youth-team football at Brighton.
“When I started playing it was tough but once you’ve been in it, you pretty much know it.”
Gravata set up the opening goal as Horsham won 3-0 at Maidstone last September and also featured in a goalless draw between the sides in the penultimate match of the season.
He’s looking forward to having the Stones supporters on his side now.
“The fans are so loud,” said Gravata.
“Obviously the last few years I’ve been on the opposition side, it’s not been great with the fans, but I’m sure for me it will be very good.”
