Nathan Patterson names Everton star he's 'most impressed' by and makes Frank Lampard admission

Everton defender Nathan Patterson has named which member of the squad he's been most impressed with and detailed what it's like working under manager Frank Lampard.

The Scotland international joined the Blues from Rangers in January but has so far made just one first team appearance for the club. The 20-year-old is currently out in the United States with the team as they prepare for the upcoming season and will have a chance to impress Lampard in their games against Arsenal and Minnesota United over the next week.

The right-back took part in a supporter question and answer on the club's social media channels on Thursday and was asked some interesting questions. One fan wanted to know which member of the squad Patterson has been most impressed with since his arrival earlier this year.

The youngster said in a video message: "There's a lot, to be fair. The squad has great talent. But, it would probably be (Anthony) Gordon, just for his age and how much of an impact he has on the team. Obviously he's a top guy as well!"

Lampard hasn't been manager at Everton for long as he only replaced Rafa Benitez midway through the previous campaign. But in another response, Patterson admitted he's relishing the opportunity to work under such a decorated player.

He added: "It's brilliant, obviously working with someone who's played at the top level and been there for a long time. He won a lot of trophies, won the Premier League, won the Champions League so you're just going to learn from a top coach like the gaffer himself. I'm thoroughly enjoying working under him."
