My 400-mile trip of a lifetime to witness a Celtic goal blizzard, Storm Isha and the serenading of a Buckie legend

As I boarded the supporters' bus at Aberdeen's Craibstone Park and Ride, I quickly got a grasp of what I was getting into.

Buckie Thistle, one of the Highland League's leading sides, are heading south to take on Glasgow giants Celtic in the Scottish Cup. A 4-0 thrashing of Fife minnows Tayport, followed by a narrow 1-0 victory against Forres Mechanics and a dramatic 3-2 win against Broxburn Athletic have set the Jags up for a the fairytale tie of the fourth round.

Record Sport joined some of the 2,500 hardy fans on the journey to Glasgow, which is remarkable considering the total population of the town Buckie, in Moray, is just over 9,000. Supporters from each spectrum of the age scale crammed into my bus – just one of hundreds booked out for the big day. Among the travelling party is former Buckie player Jamie Shewan, who helped the club win two league titles in 2010 and 2011 as well as the Highland League Cup, before hanging up his boots in 2013. Although Jamie politely turns down my request for a quick chat, lifelong Jags supporter Brian Duncan assures me that he is more than befitting of the term "legend".

Brian then goes on to share his deep-rooted connection to his local team as well as some of the best days he has had following Buckie all over the country. "My dad started taking me to games and it just started from there,” Brian reveals. "In my adult life I have started taking my two kids with me. It's a family affair.

"My wife and her family used to run the pie shop at the ground and I also used to do some stewarding for the club for a few seasons. Buckie Thistle is my life. I love the Highland League and it's a brilliant league to be a part of. We have won it three times in my lifetime. The first time was up
