Murder cops find 'potentially significant' evidence in search of Greater Manchester park

Police searching a Salford park as part of a murder investigation have made a potentially significant find. Buile Hill Park, off Eccles Old Road, has been trawled for the last week in connection with the death of Stuart Everett.

A three-month investigation is ongoing after the discovery of human remains in Kersal Dale. Specialist teams with cadaver dogs were deployed to Buile Hill Park on Friday last week. The Manchester Evening News understands potential evidence has been found there but not further human remains. The item is now being forensically tested.

The location is the latest of numerous scenes across the city where police have checked for human remains. Mr Everett, 67, is believed to have died at a house in Winton at the end of March. Parts of his body were found at Kersal Dale on April 4, sparking further searches across Salford and Manchester.

Police have also searched a house in Worsley Road, Winton; Linneyshaw Colliery Wood; Blackleach Reservoir at Blackleach Country Park, Walkden; land near the Tesco superstore at Pendleton; multiple areas on a footpath, the Worsley Loop Line, in and around Roe Green; the Bridgewater Canal; Parr Fold Park, Walkden; railway embankments near to Chesterfield Close in Eccles; and Bogart Hole Clough in Blackley, Manchester. Further body parts were found at Linneyshaw, Blackleach Reservoir, and Bogart Hole Clough, and Chesterfield Close. In total 16 locations have been checked.

Body parts were found at Kersal Dale, Salford. Two men, Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski, 68, and Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, both of Worsley Road, Eccles, have been charged with Mr Everett's murder. They have been remanded
