Mum of missing Brit Jay Slater flies to Tenerife as she reveals teen was Snapchatting friends before disappearance

The mum of a British teenager who has gone missing in Tenerife has said she is ‘beside herself with worry’ as police continue to search for her son.

Jay Slater's mum Debbie made the comments after touching down in Tenerife today following her 19-year-old son’s disappearance yesterday morning (June 17).

Jay, from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire, is currently missing on the Spanish island after travelling there for a music festival and holiday with pals. A desperate search is underway to find him near the village of Masca, in the Parque Rural de Teno. You can follow live updates on the search here.

Officials at the Foreign Office are supporting Jay's family and a spokesperson for the department also confirmed that they are in touch with the local
