Mum BIT rival's lip off in brutal garden fight after row between their teen daughters escalates
A mum bit part of a woman's lip off after a row over their teenage daughters escalated into brutal violence.
Holly Maughan went to the other parent's house and sank her teeth into her victim's bottom lip before ripping out a 'large' chunk of flesh and spitting it out, a court heard. Her victim needed extensive surgery but still has a scar from the brutal attack.
The fight started following a row between the pair's daughters when they were 14 years old. Despite agreeing that each would deal with their own daughters behaviour after an initial incident, just two weeks later the mothers came to blows after their children renewed their row.
On September 21, 2018, the victim was told by her daughter that she had been hit by Maughan's daughter. The mum went to a nearby house where she believed the other girl was. There was an exchange and the girl shouted for another girl to phone her mother and the victim and her daughter then returned home, the Chronicle reports.

Around five minutes later, Maughan turned up at the victim's door and they clashed in the front garden. Andrew Walker, prosecuting, said: "Both women claimed the other was the aggressor and threw the first punch.
"The complainant said the defendant swung a punch which connected to her left ear and she heard and felt metal as if hit by something like a knuckle duster but there was no evidence such a weapon was used and she is not to be sentenced for having such a weapon.
"They fell into a scuffle and at that point the defendant lunged forward with her head, opened her mouth and used her teeth to clamp down and bite into the left side of her bottom lip, to the point a chunk of flesh
