Mrs Hinch fans share 'amazing' 55p hack for 'streak-free and gleaming' windows

Window cleaning can often feel like an interminable task, prompting many of us to put off this tedious chore. Yet, a savvy home method is circulating that guarantees to quickly enhance your windows without leaving those irritating streaks behind.

On the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook group, members have been eagerly sharing their best window-cleaning solutions. Miriam Ahhmed said: "I want to thank every member of this group who posted about cleaning windows without smearing.

"I used to use Elbow Grease's window and glass cleaner with kitchen roll - big mistake. It always left smears, especially when the sun was out.

"I then tried washing up liquid with hot water in a spray bottle and a squeegee and it gave me streak-free and gleaming windows."

After adopting this technique, Miriam saw immediate results on her living room window, which impressed in under a minute, reports the Express.

Overflowing with joy, Miriam said: "It took less than one minute to clean the whole living room window and the results were astounding. I'm so happy right now and can't wait to get the rest of the house done."

Quickly joining the conversation, Sally Fallon said: "I have started to do mine with water and washing up liquid and it's amazing."

Maryann Black swears by the same trick for mirrors, they said: "I use washing up liquid for mirrors too. I just use the cheapest washing-up liquid from Morrisons that's 55p. The only thing that works."

Seasoned window cleaner Dean Scott, with over 15 years' experience under his belt, suggests skipping the fancy potions and folklore fixes like vinegar. His top tip? Stick to the basics - washing up liquid, a quality microfibre cloth, and a trusty squeegee.

Not only windows, but mirrors can gleam
