Moussa Dembele gushes over Celtic as icon shows love to Hoops diehard after Saudi Pro League 'favourite'

Former Celtic frontman Moussa Dembele has lapped up the attention of Parkhead supporters after some Hoops diehards were spotted in the stands during Al-Ettifaq's clash with Al-Nassr.

The 27-year-old was a free agent after being released by Lyon this summer and has been on the hunt for his next club before being won over by former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard and convinced to join the Saudi Pro League side - with Gerrard also recruiting Liverpool hero and former Parkhead defender Jordan Henderson so far this summer. The link up with the former Ibrox boss in the Middle East raised some Celtic fans eyebrows - but some true believers in Dembele were in the stands during his first competitive game.

The Frenchman got off to a flying start in Saudi as he netted the winner for Gerrard's men - and the club has now shared footage from Celtic fans being interviewed in the stands. The supporter declares that Ettifaq are going to win the league this term because they've got Dembele who is her "favourite player".

The Parkhead hero took to social media and shared the club, adding: "No matter the country on earth, there will always be Celtic fans! Massive community that I will always be grateful and proud to be part of. Thanks for the support and to being part of the Ettifaq family."
