Motherwell left with broken seats in Celtic away end as extent of Fir Park damage laid bare

Pictures have emerged showing damaged seats in the away end housing Celtic fans at Fir Park.

It's not the first incident involving the sides at Fir Park with fans streaming onto the pitch during a September meeting between the two sides at the same venue. It was late drama that day with Luis Palma scoring in the 87th minute for the visitors before Blair Spittal levelled five minutes into added-time. Matt O'Riley then smashed home a dramatic winner two minutes later.

A statement issued by the club in November in the wake of the banning of the Green Brigade made clear their the club's strife over incidents in Lanarkshire earlier this season. It read: "The unsafe behaviour at Fir Park on 30 September, including rushing turnstiles and forcing open fire exits to permit access to individuals without tickets and pitch incursions."
