Motherwell fine list 'leaked' as club bring hammer down on peeing in shower and posting social media cringe

Anyone ever been charged £100 for missing the bus?

Motherwell fans reckon they've unearthed the club's official fine list for 2023/24...and it makes for some interesting reading. Fine lists have become common practice in the professional game these days with Aston Villa, Chelsea and Arsenal among the clubs to have theirs leaked on social media in recent years. At the other end of the spectrum, SPFL lower league stalwart Danny Denholm also hilariously revealed East Fife's in 2020 while Annan's included £1 for every time a player is nutmegged during training boxes.

Falling somewhere in between those two extremes, Motherwell fans have shared what appears to be theirs for this season and it seems Stuart Kettlewell and the disciplinary 'panel' aren't taking any prisoners. A leaked image shows 25 no-nos which range from £5 for failing to wear flip-flops in the shower, to £100 (plus a further £10 per minute) for being late for the bus.

Fans on social media and forums creased at the fact the most serious offence on the list (urinating in the shower) is surprisingly only worth £25. Apparently that's not as prevalent an issue as wearing a hat on matchday (£50).

It appears social media activity is closely monitored as well. Any 'unacceptable or cringey' posting goes to a team vote and if found guilty, the assailant must front up £20 within a week of payday...while any fines that miss that deadline for payment are doubled.

It's not all senselessly harsh. A disclaimer notes that all fines are managed with 'common sense' while all proceeds appear to be donated to charity; so it's all for a good cause.
