Motherwell Athletics Club kids are in the medals at Scottish Age Group Championships

Motherwell Athletics Club took a silver and bronze medal from the Scottish Age Group Championships at Grangemouth Stadium.

Andrew Clinging ran a new PB time in his under-15 boys’ 100m final in 11.5 seconds, finishing an extremely close second.

Ana Muldoon also ran a PB time of 2.30:16 in her under-13 girls’ 800m, finishing third overall.

Other club athletes did well at the two-day event in Grangemouth.

Amelie Hill ran strongly in the under-15 100m, finishing in a new PB of 15.06 seconds, and Euan Moir clocked a new best time of 14.05.

Caitlin Reilly (28.96secs) and Hill (31.67) then took part in the 200m.

Euan Moir recorded a fabulous 4.11m in the long jump.

It was the turn of under-13 athletes on the Sunday, with Noah MacGregor and Luke Geddes running the 100m.

Both did well in the heats, reaching the semi-final, with Geddes finishing in 14.09 and MacGregor in 14.72.

Alexandra Lochhead took on the long jump, recording 3.23m.

It was then time for the 800m, which was a timed final. Elspeth Lickerish finished in 3.08:50, Martha Steele dominated her race, finishing first in a new PB of 2.47:85 and Lena Skrzydlewska finished in 2.42:82.

Ana Muldoon won her bronze medal in this event.

All four Motherwell AC boys were placed in the same 800m race. Luke Geddes finished first in his race and sixth overall in 2.28:70, knocking seven seconds off his PB. He was followed by Eoghan Connelly in 2.30:00, taking four seconds off his PB.

Finishing fourth in his race and ninth overall was Noah MacGregor in 2.31:94, knocking off some seven seconds, and Connor McNamee finished in 2.47:20.

Alexandra Lockhead and Elspeth Lickerish took part in the 200m, finishing in 33.36 and 34.20, respectively, while Eoghan Connelly (30.06) and Connor
