Moss Side murder investigation update as killer still at large following fatal stabbing of teenager

Police patrols have been stepped up in Moss Side as detectives continue to hunt for the killer of 17-year-old Prince Walker-Ayeni. The teenager was stabbed to death in broad daylight in a horror attack on Raby Street on Thursday afternoon.

Prince, who was just days away from his 18th birthday, was rushed to hospital, but tragically died a short time later. As investigations continue, police say neighbourhood officers will be a 'visible presence' in the area in the days to come.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Dave Fenton said: "We always want our presence to be a reassuring one, but we understand that this visible presence is especially important now more than ever to our local community after the devastating news. We have stepped up local patrols in the area to provide a visible presence in the area.

"We continue to work with partner agencies and local authorities to minimise any disruption caused to the community, as there is a scene on Raby Street with road closures, and we are doing all we can to keep our residents safe and to ensure we remain engaged with the local community and we are here to answer any of your concerns.

"Local work is ongoing to tackle knife crime, and we continue to work hard to engage our young people through school visits to encourage a culture of reporting.

"We are out and about in the area, we are here to provide support and reassurance to the local community and to reiterate that this kind of violence has no place on our streets, and will not be tolerated."

Police continue to appeal for information and say they are particularly interested in the identities of three males wearing dark clothes and riding
