Morning inspection at Fairyhouse ahead of Saturday meet

Saturday's racing at Fairyhouse remains under threat from the adverse weather conditions and a morning inspection will be carried out at the tracking in the morning.

There will be a 7.30am inspection at the County Meath venue ahead of the scheduled meeting as parts of the track remain unfit for racing at present.

Brendan Sheridan, IHRB Clerk of the Course at Fairyhouse, said: "Parts of the track are still frozen, particularly on the chase track. The temperature at present is four degrees and it is to stay around that temperature this evening and it is not to get down below freezing overnight.

"Where the track is raceable, the chase course is soft and the hurdle course is soft, yielding to soft in places but we will have a 7.30am inspection tomorrow morning to determine the prospects for racing."

Elsewhere, there will be an 8.30am inspection on Saturday morning at both Tinahely ahead of the Shillelagh & District (F) Point to Point fixture and Ballindenisk ahead of the United Hunt (F) Point to Point fixture both scheduled for Saturday. Both tracks are currently unfit for racing.
