Morgan Gibbs-White hints at Wolves exit with Sheffield United transfer reveal

Morgan Gibbs-White has suggested he could join Sheffield United permanently - even if the Blades don’t reach the Premier League.

Wolves youngster Gibbs-White has been a revelation on loan at the Championship club this season. The 22-year-old has fired the Blades into the play-offs with 11 goals and nine assists in 35 outings for the club.

Sheffield United are hoping to sign Gibbs-White permanently in the summer, but manager Paul Heckingbottom knows that decision is in Wolves’ hands. Gibbs-White has two years remaining on his contract at Molineux and head coach Bruno Lage would like to include him in his pre-season plans.

Gibbs-White, however, has suggested ‘anything is possible’ in the summer window and that he could even rejoin the Blades if they fail to win promotion. Sheffield United take on Nottingham Forest over two legs in the play-off semi-finals, with the first game at Bramall Lane on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Speaking to YorkshireLive, Gibbs-White said: “I have had ongoing conversations (with Wolves) throughout the season. I was going to go back in January but wanted to stay here. Anything is possible, whether up or down, I absolutely love this place.”

Gibbs-White was named Sheffield United’s player of the season at their awards dinner last week. His long-term future is set to be decided this summer.
