MMA star Chris Bungard hopes five-fight deal leads to UFC chance in future

Chris Bungard says being back in MMA has provided “structure” for his life – and hopes it leads to a crack at UFC further down the line.

The Holytown scrapper has signed a five-fight deal with Cage Warriors 134, and is aiming to make his debut in Belfast in June.

Bungard, 33, is delighted to have been given the opportunity, and said: “I’m buzzing off it, it’s good to get something in the pipeline and get focused on high competition again – I’ve not fought in about a year.

“The division’s packed full of talented guys, hard fights everywhere.”

Bungard is part of the Scottish Hit Squad, and was down in London with Airdrie’s Paul Craig for his UFC bout.

He makes no bones about the fact that UFC is where he
